Riane Menardi, editor of the senior capstone magazine Think, gives us an update on how the magazine is progressing so far this semester.
The theme this year is integration, which Menardi explains in the video.
Menardi said the Think website should launch around spring break, and the actual publication will be sent the printers in April.
[HTML1]About Think
Think magazine is produced in the spring semester by a joint capstone class of magazine and news-Internet majors. A staff of about 20 students runs the show. Lori Blachford and Jill Van Wyke are teaching the course this semester.
Students apply for staff positions and are interviewed by area professional editors, writers and designers. Once the staff is in place, students do everything: choose and assign stories; report, write and edit them; design the entire magazine; shoot and edit photos; produce and maintain a website; work with the printer; and promote and distribute the magazine. It’s an extraordinary experience for everyone.
The magazine has been honored by the Associated Collegiate Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, Hearst and the AEJMC Magazine Division.
