Renee Cramer, Drake University law, politics and society professor, will discuss the current media mania for the pregnant celebrity body on Friday, Nov. 21.

The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held at noon in the Honors Lounge of Medbury Hall, 2730 Forest Ave.

Cramer’s talk, “My [Baby] Bump is My Best Accessory: the Fetishization and Commodification of the Pregnant Celebrity Body,” will explore how the baby bump has become the accessory of the season.

The discussion is part of the Women’s Studies Program series on “Contesting Parenthood.”
