Picture yourself at Drake during the Iowa State Fair

Alumni and friends are invited to celebrate Drake Day at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Look for Spike the Bulldog looming 25 feet in the air above Drake’s tent on Rock Island Avenue at the Fairgrounds. Help yourself to a free disposable camera (quantities limited) and snap a souvenir picture of your group in one of several “virtual” Drake scenes. Meet Bulldog athletes and take home limited-edition Drake giveaways.

If you’re unable to attend on Aug. 9, be sure to visit the Drake display in the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building throughout the fair, which runs from Aug. 7-17.

Traveling
this summer? Take Drake with you

Next
time you’re planning a trip, let Drake know. We’ll send you a Drake pennant to
take with you if you promise to send us photos back of you showing your Drake
pride wherever you happen to be in the world.

We’ll
post the photos on Drake’s MySpace page, www.myspace.com/drakeuniversity, for
everyone to see and possibly include them in a Drake publication. See the Drake
Around the World photos on the MySpace site for examples of the first couple
we’ve received.

You
need not be going around the world to submit your shots. A trip to Chicago,
Minneapolis, or the local campground are fine, too. Just be sure to display
your Drake pride wherever you go. To get your pennant, contact Drake Writer/Editor Tim Schmitt at 515-271-3273 or tim.schmitt@drake.edu.
