The Drake Environmental Action League (DEAL) and other student and community groups will conclude Drake’s Earth Week celebration with Earth Jam from 4 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, on the Pomerantz Stage in Olmsted Center, 2875 University Ave.

Earth Jam will feature performances by Flying Frog Brigade, Andrew’s Ave. and Public Property. In addition, Drake Professor Keith Summerville will discuss environmental issues at 6:10 p.m. and Drake President David Maxwell will announce a new initiative for the University at 8 p.m.

DEAL is a committed group of students involved in increasing awareness and sustainability on Drake’s campus, in the community and beyond. The students do grassroots work for national organizations, sponsor speakers, work with administration, attend environmental conferences, are involved with state environmental politics, and work to improve recycling programs.
