Iowa speedway specialist carries lecture series across the finish line

Craig Armstrong, vice president and general manager of Iowa Speedway, will conclude Drake’s spring 2007 “Let’s DU Lunch” lecture series with a talk beginning at noon Wednesday, April 4, at the Polk County Convention Complex, 501 Grand Ave.

Armstrong will discuss the history of Iowa Speedway and share his experiences at the track. He has been an outspoken advocate for the speedway since joining the staff in late May 2006, often appearing in Des Moines newspaper articles and radio interviews. Iowa Speedway is located in Newton, Iowa, and hosts NASCAR and several other racing series throughout the year.

Let’s DU Lunch is a Drake outreach program designed to bring interesting people together to discuss topics that affect the community, society and the future. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, is open to the public.

Cost is $15 per lunch. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and speaker from noon to 1 p.m. Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended.
