Drake will celebrate its 125th anniversary with a display of photographs and memories at the Iowa State Fair.

Thousands of Drake alumni, friends and fans are set to storm the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 12, in celebration of Drake Day @ The Iowa State Fair.

Drake will show photographs and memories from its 125 years of history in a museum-like timeline stretching back to the University’s roots through today.

The first 3,000 guests will receive a free set of 10 postcards displaying Drake moments. Also, get your picture taken in front of one of three historic backgrounds – the 1881 construction of Old Main, a 1914 graduation processional or running in the Drake Relays with Olympian Wilma Rudolph in 1961.

Drake will also offer special discounts on its 125th anniversary coffee table book, “Drake University,” with photographs by Pulitzer Prize winner David Peterson – a former Drake Relays competitor from his Kansas State University days.

“Drake University” will be available for order at the discounted price of $32.95 – 20 percent off – only at the Iowa State Fair.
