Drake CPHS students elected to regional leadership positions

American Pharmacists Association – Academic Of Student Pharmacists

Kelli Welter (P2) was elected the Region 5 member-at-large in the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Students in Pharmacy. Region 5 is comprised of eight colleges of pharmacy in six states in the Midwest.  The election occurred during the Midyear Regional Meeting, held in Des Moines, October 27-29.  “I am excited to represent Drake University regionally and nationally,” Kelli said. Dean Renae Chesnut welcomed students to the meeting. Dr. Wendy Mobley-Bukstein (PH’99), assistant professor of pharmacy practice, and Coralynn Trewett (PH’03) were featured presenters at the meeting.

 

Kappa Psi

Katie Schlebecker (P4) and Alex Maciejewski (P2) were elected to offices for the North Plains Province (NPP) of Kappa Psi, a national pharmaceutical fraternity. The NPP Province meeting was held at the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines Nov. 3-5.

Katie Schlebecker was elected Satrap, and will be responsible for presiding over assembly meetings and leading the province executive committee. In this position, she will also serve as the official liaison for the province when interacting with international officers, other provinces, and national and province committees.

Alex Maciejewski was elected Secretary, with primary responsibilities for recording proceedings at province meetings and during executive board conference calls. This position also communicates with all of the respective chapters in the NPP to assure that chapter reports are displayed at every assembly, archives and maintains lists of chapter officers within the province, and organizes all minutes and reports from previous province assemblies.
