It’s official: Drake SJMC is reaccredited!

The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications last week took its final vote and unanimously decided that Drake SJMC should be reaccredited, complying with all nine accreditation standards. This vote followed a year-long review of our program; a site visit by a team of media professionals and professors in February, and a preliminary ACEJMC committee vote in March. Congratulations to all of the students, faculty, staff and alumni who had a role in this outstanding achievement!

PR senior breaks Relays record

Public relations senior Reed Fischer broke a 39-year-old Drake Relays record last week by winning the 5,000-meter run in 13:48:32. Congratulations, Reed, on making Drake athletic history!

Alums discuss founding their ad agency

 

Rhino Hyde Productions, an ad agency in St. Louis, was founded by brother and sister Drake grads Jordan Reinwald and Sarah Reinwald Guldalian, a radio-TV major. They spoke with students in Ad Principles last week to discuss professional experiences working in an ad agency.

2017-2018 ad capstone client revealed

Next year’s advertising capstone client will be the Des Moines Menace soccer club.
