Drake University to host fall 2016 commencement ceremony on Dec. 17

Drake University will hold a commencement ceremony this weekend to celebrate the accomplishments of 262 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students who completed their degree requirements as of the conclusion of the fall 2016 semester.

Drake’s 141st commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in The Knapp Center, 2525 Forest Ave. Approximately 200 of the 262 degree recipients are expected to attend.

The ceremony will include remarks by Drake alumnus Joseph Jones, executive director of The Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen Engagement, and graduating senior Veronica Jandura of Antioch, Ill., who will receive a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
