Drake’s Executive Education Center launches Talent Development Series

Drake University’s Executive Education Center announced today a new series of professional development courses tailored to organizations that are looking to complement their talent development efforts, fill specific leadership gaps, and grow employee skills.

The Talent Development Series’ half-day courses focus on a variety of topics within the focus areas of Leadership, Business Acumen, and Strategy. All courses are co-taught by a Drake faculty member and outside practitioner, merging academic and real-world experiences to provide a creative and applicable learning experience.

The series was developed in consultation with a group of leading Des Moines area human resource professionals, and feature instructors from several major organizations. The Spring 2016 series lineup is as follows:

Leadership
“Transitioning to a Managerial Role” — Tuesday, March 24

“Transactional to Transformational Leadership” — Thursday, June 30

Business Acumen
“Creating Consumer Value” — Friday, May 13

“Data Driven Decision Making” — Monday, May 16

“Budget Planning and Forecasting” — Thursday, June 16

Strategy
“The Concept of Strategy—Goals, Value, and Performance” — Friday, May 6

“Industry Analysis, Evolution, and Strategic Change” — Wednesday, June 1

“Maximizing Firm Resources and Capabilities for Strategic Impact” — Thursday, June 23

Courses are held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Drake’s campus. Lunch is included. The cost is $495 per course, with reduced pricing available for multiple course registration. Details and registration information are available online at https://wwww.drake.edu/execed/.
