Times-Delphic wins 12 awards

Feb. 6, 2015 – The Times-Delphic won 12 awards Thursday, including seven first-place nods, in the annual Iowa College Media Association contest.

The awards recognized work published in 2013-14, under Editor-in-Chief Taylor Soule.

The awards were handed out Thursday night at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Des Moines as part of the ICMA and Iowa Newspaper Association conference. A list of winners is below.

Also at the conference, Courtney Fishman, editor-in-chief of the Times-Delphic, spoke on a panel Friday about the challenges of covering sexual assault on college campuses.

In addition, junior Alex Payne, a broadcast news major, won four awards for work he did last year for Des Moines Area Community College’s Campus Chronicle.
