Drake University/Community Chorus to begin spring rehearsals

The Drake University/Community Chorus will begin rehearsals on Jan. 27 to prepare for May 2-3 performances of Mozart’s “Requiem.” The choir, which is accepting new members, is open to all Drake students, faculty, staff, as well any interested singers in the Des Moines community.

This non-auditioned ensemble rehearses weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The choir is under the direction of Dr. Aimee Beckmann-Collier, director of choral studies at Drake University.

Those wanting to participate should attend the first rehearsal in Monroe Hall on the lower level of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th St. and Carpenter Ave. There is no fee for membership in the ensemble, but singers will need to provide their own music, which can be purchased at University Bookstore, 30th St. and University Ave.

For additional information, contact Aimee Beckmann-Collier at 515-271-2841 or aimee.beckmann-collier@drake.edu.
