Drake University holds fall commencement

On Saturday, Dec. 14, Drake University will hold its fall commencement ceremony to celebrate students who have completed their degree requirements in December. The ceremony, which is open to the public, begins at 10 a.m. in Drake University’s Knapp Center. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.

The December commencement will mark the 135th commencement ceremony in Drake’s history, and will include both graduate and undergraduate students from all colleges and schools.

Diane Caldbeck, ED’72, associate vice president of alumni and development, will address the graduates, welcoming them to the Drake alumni community. In 2011, her family founded the “Caldbeck Challenge,” which gives the opportunity for each senior class to increase their collective class gift and the legacy they leave to the University by matching dollars raised.

Due to the start of construction on the new basketball practice facility, the parking lot adjacent to the Knapp Center will be unavailable. All other Drake parking lots will be open at no cost.
