Education Leadership Department Represented at SAI Convention

The School of Education Leadership and Counseling Department had a great showing at the SAI Convention. According to Dean McMahill, we were “up close and personal” with Iowa Principals, Superintendents, Curriculum and Agency Directors attending their annual convention on August 7 and 8. The home team hosted a double-wide exhibit in the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center and well over 500 people stopped by the booth to greet instructors and learn about additional degree options.

The School of Education’s newest faculty member, Dr. Trent Grundmeyer was honored during the opening session as Iowa’s Outstanding Secondary School Administrator.  The 2,000 audience members joined us in our recognition of his achievement.

In addition, Counseling Professor, Dr. Wade Leuwerke was selected to be one of eight session presenters.  In repeated morning and afternoon workshops, Dr. Leuwerke shared his research and national work in the area of “Integrating noncognitive skills and College Readiness.”
