Drake University alumnus Pat Dillon, LW’03, has published a book, Field Manual: Iowa Farmer’s Guide to Legal Issues. The book is a quick and easy reference to legal issues surrounding farm operations from regulatory compliance to passing on the farm to the next generation.
“I wrote the book to add value to farm operations in Iowa,” says Dillon. “A lot of the materials I cover are common areas of concern for my farm and rural clients and they didn’t have a plain English resource to alert them to the points to consider on these topics. I hope this book helps farmers identify potential issues before they become problems.”
Dillon operates a farm in northeast Iowa and practices law at Dillon Law, PC, in Sumner, IA. He has previously been published in the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, At Home Magazine and in MECHFORCE North America. He is also a regular contributor to Northeast Iowa Farmer and Calmar Courier.
