PRSSA elects board, looks for new members

DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 29)⎯ The new academic year brings with it exciting new opportunities for students at Drake University. The Drake University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter announced a new executive board, ready to provide a rich, industry-focused program of 2011-2012 events for students.

“As PRSSA President, I look forward to furthering the education and professional development of Drake’s Public Relations students,” Jessie Scott, a senior Public Relations major, said.

The new board includes Jessie Scott, president, Trevor Funk, vice president, Abby Bedore, secretary, Katie Pappas, treasurer, Christine Setsodi and Cecily Miniaci, co-communication chairs and Audrey Sova, recruitment chair.

Recruiting for PRSSA will begin in early September. A member of the new executive board will visit select journalism classes to raise awareness about the organization and attract new members. The first PRSSA meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 at a location to be determined.
