First-year Drake School of Journalism and Mass Communication students are required to purchase one of the following video cameras before the start of the school year:
Kodak Zi8 or Zi10 (Playtouch) camera.
These cameras will be used to create photos and videos in the Multimedia Journalism Lab (J31), which all first-year SJMC students take in their first semester of school.
The following cameras are also acceptable options:
- iPod Touch 4th generation
- iPhone 4
- Canon PowerShot SX230HS
It is also recommended (but not required) that students buy a tripod, either a full-size tripod or a table-top version.
