First ever All-Pharmacy reunion highlights

The first ever Drake University All-Pharmacy Reunion was diagnosed a success, with more than 200 attendees registering for a weekend themed “Reflection. Innovation. Celebration.”

Pharmacy alumni gathered throughout Relays weekend, rekindling old friendships in a tented area a little more than a shotput distance from the action in Drake Stadium.

“I’ve seen lots of my friends — mostly Phi Delta Chi gals,” said Kim Joyce, PH’99, of Emmetsburg, Iowa. “Most of my friends were in the pharmacy school, and it’s great to realize that many of the faculty still do remember us.”

Joyce and many others lingered at the lantern-lit tent party late Friday evening, until fireworks signaled the end of races across the street, and the reception drew to a close.

The intergenerational event continued Saturday, with a breakfast honoring the late Dr. Lon Larson, campus tours and tours of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences facilities, a sample class, lunch and an evening reception. Sunday, The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Collaboration Education Institute (CEI) hosted Diabetes Update 2011, a continuing pharmacy education opportunity.
