Profile spotlights Jim Albert’s efforts to stick up for underdogs

The Des Moines Register ran a lengthy feature story about Drake University Law School Professor Jim Albert on Sunday, highlighting Albert’s many initiatives to help underprivileged people.

The
29-year member of the Drake faculty and chairman of the Iowa Ethics and
Campaign Disclosure Board has a history of sticking up for the underdog
— from rallying to reinstate flextime for secretaries and file clerks,
to defending televangelists in the courts.

In his latest
effort, Albert started a nonprofit foundation to benefit poor children
in Belize. That group has raised $10,000 in its first year with a stated
goal of raising $100,000 the second year, Albert told the Register.
