Book Arts series concludes with program on calligraphy

Jean Wilson will present “Calligraphy and Penmanship”
on Thursday, April 29, as the concluding event in Drake’s series on
Book Arts: Dialogues and Languages.

The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will start
at 2 p.m. in room 201 of Cowles Library, 2725 University Ave.

The series, which began March 2, has covered a wide array of topics, delving into the cultural frameworks that inform the innovations of the
book, as well as the book as an object of humanistic inquiry.

Sponsors of the series are the Drake University Humanities Center,
Cowles Library and World Languages and Cultures Program in collaboration
with Prairie Book Collaborative of Des Moines.
