As part of the Grow Bulldogs program, students from Phillips Elementary visited Drake University Friday, April 10. Drake basketball players joined the children for the day full of activities.
The students learned to apply mathematical concepts to measure, estimate, predict and identify shapes and properties, all with Drake basketball themes.
Grow Bulldogs is a collaboration between Drake Athletics, Drake School of Education, and Phillips Elementary to engage children in the classroom through sports-themed lessons. The program recently received a $15,000 grant from Qwest Foundation.
