Drake Trombone Choir to perform its first concert Friday

The Drake Trombone Choir will give its inaugural concert at 8 p.m.
Friday, April 11, in the Performing Arts Hall of the Harmon Fine Arts
Center, 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue.

The choir, made up of eight trombone students at Drake, will
perform works by Haydn, Brahms, Palestrina and Nehlybel, as well as
three pieces for jazz trombones with a rhythm section.

The ensemble, directed by Drake Assistant Professor of Low Brass
Grady McGrannahan, will give a second concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, May
8, in the Performing Arts Hall. The performance will feature guest
artist David Vining, professor of trombone at Northern Arizona
University.
