Drake University is celebrating the 99th running of Relays with a week of special events that includes the “Fake Relays,” where teams from local businesses and organizations compete in various contests from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 22) at Nollen Plaza in downtown Des Moines.
The schedule of specail events for the remainder of the week appears below:
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23
- Relays Carnival featuring inflatable obstacle courses, caricatures, photo booths and carnival food, 4:30 to 8 p.m., Helmick Commons
- Drake Relays Invitational Pole Vault, 6 to 8 p.m., Jordan Creek Town Center, Center Court, West Des Moines
THURSDAY, APRIL 24
- Drake Relays Invitational High Jump, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nollen Plaza, downtown Des Moines
FRIDAY, APRIL 25
- Drake Relays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Drake Stadium; various ticket packages available, call 515-271- 3647
- Alumni Tent Lunch, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., between Herriott Hall and Harvey Ingham Hall
