Chicago event offers cuisine, comedy, camaraderie Dec. 8

The Drake Chicago Advisory Board has cooked up a wonderful evening of cuisine, comedy and Drake camaraderie for area alumni and friends on Saturday, Dec. 8: We’ll start at 5:30 p.m. with a four-course dinner and wine at Socca, 3301 N. Clark St., with head chef and former Drake student Roger Herring. At 8 p.m., we’ll enjoy a Drake-exclusive show featuring Tim Ryder, JO’05, at Comedy Sportz, 929 W. Belmont. After the performance, Tim will discuss his experience working in improvisational comedy.

Joining the group will be Drake President David Maxwell; Charlie Edwards, dean of the College of Business and Public Administration and School of Journalism and Mass Communication; Stuart Klugman, BN’70, professor of actuarial science; other Drake leaders and members of the Chicago Advisory Board.

Cost for the dinner alone is $60 per person; for the comedy performance alone is $25 per person. The combined cost for both the dinner and show is $75 per person. Invitations are being mailed, or RSVP by calling the Office of Alumni and Parent Programs, 800-44-DRAKE, x3147.
